Accent and Dialect Coaching

I am an experienced voice and dialect coach, having trained at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama on their prestigious Voice Studies MFA.

I break down, coach and teach accents for film and TV (Feed Me, The Wheel of Time [ADR, Season 2]), and teach at some of the UK’s leading drama schools, including Mountview, Central, Rose Bruford and more. More recently, I have begun to provide accent coaching services for video game performances.

I’m an accent nerd!

Whether in a group or one to one, I pride myself in making accent learning fun, specific and low pressure.

I am a total accent nerd at heart. Whether it be working on a new language and dialect for a fantasy TV show, or helping a production get the right sound for their film or show, I am as detailed and as specific as possible in my research and coaching.

What is it?

Our accents are our footprint, our identity. They say so much about who we are. Accents should be celebrated and revered! And to use another accent other than your own has to be done with the utmost respect and care. Through specificity in research (and lot’s of exploration) performing an accent will feel like second nature.

I needed a southern Irish accent for a one woman show. Keith took me from what my mouth should be doing to embodying the accent within the character. He is so supportive and positive – you make audible progress every session.

Keith’s energy was infectious – immediately engaging the participants and pitching the work perfectly for this age-group. With such a wide age group, with varying ability, it was no easy task.

Encouraging and thorough, Keith's attention to detail has allowed me to craft such a memorable performance in a different accent and dialect.

What you’ll get

We will work from an accent breakdown, I’ll be chopping the accent into workable bitesize pieces so you don’t have to.

We will work through the accent in minute detail. We will listen to and watch real people to ensure authenticity. You will finish our time together understanding not only specific sounds required to create the accent, but the physicality and musicality of it. With enough time, you will feel comfortable enough to improvise in the dialect, taking it beyond the script and into real life.

We wouldn’t hesitate to invite Keith back. He clearly knows his craft and it was fantastic to gain just a tiny slice of his incredible and vast knowledge in voice, accents and dialects.
